a birthday and a blog
Category: everyday | May 10th, 2012the mister had a birthday last week. i tried to make it all about him. it was a little challenging considering he had to work/be on the phone/go to meetings all day…and i had miss P to chase around. but i think we did a good job. and to celebrate his day he decided to launch his new blog! i’m so excited for him because he has been wanting to do one for so long now. it’s a how to live life to the fullest/what’s your purpose/find your passion type thing. and i love it. and i love him. :) go check it out for some great inspiration too! oh and say hi! who doesn’t like to get comments from readers?? i will warn you…there are no pictures or bright colors. in fact he’s the exact opposite of me when it comes to style. hah. it’s still pretty awesome though. ;)
and here’s a little recap of parts of the day.
side note: he wakes up later than normal and isn’t very hungry so that’s why there’s no “happy birthday breakfast.” and i was probably too tired to make something. (story of my life right now) ;)
we went to a meeting with him at starbucks (his clients are pretty cool with us coming and trying not to be a distraction). all of the seats were pretty full inside so we chilled outside…which wasn’t the most fun for me since i had to chase her every 5 seconds since she wasn’t happy sitting still. and it was about 105 degrees outside. but she had a blast and that’s all that matters right? ;)
after he drank a weeks worth of calories in his drink (so just kidding), we went to barnes & noble for him to pick out some books….while i chilled in the car because P fell asleep. lol. we then went back home only to pack up some other stuff and got back on the road again to drop off P at the grandparents house so we could go to a “happy birthday movie date!” (thank you!!) i’m pretty sure that was the first movie we saw in theatre since P was born. saw the hunger games. it was intense but i liked it overall (and no i didn’t read the books. i’m not cool like that). i did take some photos there but they didn’t turn out so pretty so i’ll leave those out. ha
some might say this wasn’t a very exciting birthday but i mean it was a wednesday and he had to work. ha. i loved it. he did too. even though he probably didn’t get as much work done as he’d like. it was his birthday, come on. ;) don’t forget to check out his blog www.howuseful.com!

saw this type of post on several other bloggers that i read and thought it’d be fun to do every now and then.
reading: well technically it was an audio book but that totally counts right?. the mister is working on his writing skills for his new blog he started and so on our road trip this past weekend we listened to one called “on writing well” by william zinnser. honestly i thought it was going to put me to sleep, but it was actually really good. (i did however fall asleep 30 minutes later. haha. it was really late.) ;)
watching: i was able to catch up on a couple of my fav shows the other day (while i was being blah and laying on the couch), new girl and parks & recreation. we use netflix and hulu plus since we don’t have cable and what not. i think it works out better that way. ;)
thinking about: all the lovely laundry and house chores i need to do this week. and not real excited about it. but hey at least i have clothes that need to be washed. gotta find the positive in these things. ;)
loving: how helpful my family is, especially the mister. i have had a couple blah days lately since i haven’t been getting much sleep so he has been playing with miss P even more so i could be helpless and lay on the couch. ha
anticipating: my next midwife visit so i can finally hear this baby’s heartbeat!! 2 1/2 more weeks. sigh.
listening to: nothing at the moment but i have sesame street’s theme song in my head. we watched it this morning.
eating: snacking on some cheez-its right now. still hungry but NOTHING sounds good…even after i went grocery shopping yesterday. sigh
feeling thankful for: miss P and this baby in my belly even though the baby makes me feel miserable at times. ;) P has also been extra cute lately. i think she knows i need some extra “lifting up.” them babies are smart ya know. ;)

hi!!! man, it’s been awhile since i’ve posted last. my apologies. i usually blog at night after miss P goes to bed. but umm….her bedtime has now become my bedtime. so now i don’t have those extra 3 hours to do stuff after she sleeps. haha. but i’m still here and praise the Lord i am feeling much better!! surprised it has come this early. i thought i would be miserable for at least a few more weeks. prayer is pretty powerful people. :)
i had a midwife appt last week and everything looks great! i was super excited about this appt because i was 10 weeks along and usually that’s the earliest you are able to hear the heart beat. so clearly i was pumped about it. unfortunately we couldn’t hear it. apparently my uterus is low. lol. but it’s a not a bad sign…it’s common. so just gotta wait (patiently) until next visit. in 3 more weeks. ugh. ;)
*a huge shout out to all my etsy customers too. they have been champs when it comes to being flexible and understanding. i have been getting more orders lately and with my lack of extra time it has taken a little longer than normal. so thank you guys!! y’all are the best.
*i attempted a knitted bow necklace for a friend of mine and it turned out really cute. might be a new etsy listing??

today is our 3 year anniversary! that day was such a fun day i will never forget. i have been blessed with an amazing man of God and not to mention my best friend. we have a lot to be thankful for and are excited to see what the next year brings us!
