working on:
creating a fun and somewhat organized playroom for miss P. this has been a lot of fun! tiring, but fun. my goal is to use only the stuff we have already…repurposing and redecorating some stuff. so far it’s looking fun and coming along nicely. i’m going for the use-whatever-we-have/no-color-theme look. haha. i have my own table in the room for my stuff-aka laptop and room for crafting too. it’s our own little room to hang out together and hopefully not bother the mister so much while he works. :)

thinking about: what BIG wall decor to create. we have a few big wall spaces (entry way and dining room) that are completely bare and need some tlc. i have a few ideas pinned, waiting to be attempted on pinterest so i might bust out with those next week. i usually hesitate when it comes to putting holes in the walls but it needs something!

anticipating: taking another mini road trip next week with miss P to see my family. always a good time!  i need to take advantage of the time i have left before i can’t travel. just wish they lived closer. ;)

eating:
lots and lots and lots of fruit. i feel like when i go grocery shopping half of the cart is fruit. i should work on my veggies. boo.

planning for:
meals. man….i do a lot of things dealing with food. lol. i’ve really never been a meal planner, but i have been wanting to get into it. now that i can stand being in the kitchen and looking at food, i am determined to work on this. i know there are tons of great websites that help with the organizing and ideas. yay!

thankful for:
an awesome group of mamas & kiddos that i get to go walking with several times a week. not only do i get great exercise (i’m talking the hill country + a not so light jogging stroller + baby + crazy heat), but great fellowship. i feel like i learn something new from them every day. thank you ladies! and i know my midwife thanks you too for encouraging me to walk as much as we do. :)

a short nap kind of day

Category: everyday | July 19th, 2012

today was an off day. any time miss P doesn’t get a good nap (as in only 30 minutes compared to her 2-3 hour nap) then that makes it an off day. ha. i try not to let it be but it usually is. she’s tired-i’m tired-i didn’t get anything done while she napped (because we were driving in the car). sigh. oh well. what can you do? she did go down for the night before the sunset (never happens!) also, i did manage to keep up with my daily cleaning chore for the week. i am determined to make this house more clean than it usually is…and that is challenging with an always on the go toddler and a tired/pregnant mama. ;) i made a new list this past week of the daily chores and so far i have kept up with it. i’m pretty proud of myself. am i more worn out than usual? yes. but we have a cleaner home (and that makes the mister happier). since he has seen more of an effort in my cleaning, he is talking more about decorating the house. ummm…yay/finally! :) so in the middle of thinking of ideas to decorate our house, i’m also rearranging rooms and reorganizing things like crazy. i might be overwhelming myself. so instead of cleaning/reorganizing i am sitting here and writing an actual post, which i haven’t done in awhile.

on a side note: i have officially completed my “mood board” for my new blog design! i’ve been inspired by so many other bloggers, it’s hard to come up with a final decision. so now that that’s done, hopefully things will get going! i’m ready for a new look.

and on another side note: it’s miss P’s half birthday today! we celebrated by going to my midwife appointment and then ikea! ha. i think i want to bake a cake or something for her tomorrow. i’m so going to be that mom who celebrates the half birthdays. nothing big/no presents. just an excuse to bake a cake and eat it!:)

happy 4th

Category: everyday | July 5th, 2012

we had fun celebrating the 4th yesterday. we decorated the stroller and walked in our little community’s annual parade that went through our neighborhood. these events make me love living where we are. it’s our own little town. (always reminds me of Friday Night Lights. ha). loved seeing everyone all decked out. after the parade i made a few desserts for our dinner party while P took a much needed nap. snickers salad. ummm….delish. got the idea from my sister, so i found a simple recipe on pinterest (of course). highly recommend. you don’t feel as guilty with all those apples in there. ;)

then we spent the evening with a group of lovely families. LOTS of babies. it was a lot fun. ended the night with some good ole sparklers. miss P demanded to hold them by herself. ha. maybe next year. hope everyone had a great and safe 4th!

(ps. i’m 20 weeks today! hard to believe we’re halfway there already!)
